Critic’s notebook: With so much good TV, youngsters have no time for oldies but goodies
Abbott and Costello? Charlie Chan? Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart? Sorry, but Disney, HBO Family and Nickelodeon beckon. My 12-year-old son recently informed me that he didn’t much see the point of black-and-white movies, and I realized this horrifying state of affairs could be blamed only on television. The fact that there’s so much good television, that is.
